Uneven Temps

The best thing to do when you have uneven temperatures in your home is to eliminate the easy fixes first. If those don’t work, then give us a call at MoreVent so we can dive a little deeper and find your solution.
You should start by making sure all the windows are securely closed so you’re not getting drafts in the colder areas. Basically, you want to check any place in your home that could potentially have a hole or could provide access to the outside and seal those up.
If you do a scan of the home and are still experience hot and cold spots, it’s time to call MoreVent. You need a proper system and home analysis. That analysis enables a professional HVAC contractor to verify that you’re getting the right amount of air into each area of the home.
Are your registers the proper size? Are the vents completely open? If the answer to those questions is “yes,” then we need to balance the distribution of air. Once we understand your home’s requirement per room, we evaluate the ductwork to make sure you have balancing dampers. If you do, we use a device called a bolometer to measure the air that’s coming out and then set each supply register to give the right amount of air. All of that’s done down at the duct system.
Typically, the ductwork is going to be the largest factor in whether or not you’re comfortable in your home. Many people think getting brand new HVAC equipment is the solution, but it’s not always the case. And if the ductwork is hidden by drywall or the construction expense is too much for the client, we might have to turn to a ductless mini-split system, which gives us central heating and cooling for specific rooms, without using a duct system at all.
If you have uneven temperatures in your home, we can find a solution for you. But you have to call us first at 1-610-257-7702.
