There’s a significant difference between air filters and air cleaners. If you are interested in truly cleaning the air you breathe, you’ll need to install an air cleaning system.
An air filter is what most homeowners pick up at a big box or hardware store. They help reduce particulates that go through the system and recirculate through the home. What air filters don’t do is reduce the small, airborne particulates that we breathe.
The EPA tells us that the air inside our homes is 2 to 10 times more polluted than outdoor air. The air cleaners that MoreVent utilizes are able to capture 97% of all particulates that are .3 microns and smaller. Air filters are not capable of doing that.
Air cleaners incorporate an electronic component that applies either a positive or negative charge to particulates coming through the filter. This allows them to catch the small particulates that are damaging to our lungs and body.
It’s really important that you have a qualified technician install your air cleaner. We have to ensure that the air cleaner doesn’t damage the system by reducing a large amount of the air coming through the machine. It’s not as straight forward as slipping in a filter.
