Do I HAVE to Check My Water Heater Every Year?

Most of us don’t even know how old our water heaters are. Out of sight, out of mind, right? But as water heaters get older, the likelihood of failure increases.
Most of the water heaters that MoreVent replaces have completely failed. They leak a considerable amount of water and that’s a huge inconvenience, especially for our clients with finished basements.
Water heater maintenance is critical and should be done on an annual basis.  We have to flush it and check the anode rod. If you do those two things yearly, you will absolutely extend the life of your water heater.
If your water heater’s approaching twelve to fourteen years, you need a trained eye to make sure the fittings, connections and valves are properly operating. You want to be able to turn them off in the event of a failure.
