Do I Need a Ductless Mini-Split System?

If you have hot and cold areas in your home, a ductless mini-split system could be a safe and efficient remedy.  These systems are extremely quiet and do a fantastic job at providing those spaces both heat and air conditioning.
When you can’t run ductwork into a room, a ductless mini-split system might be your answer. For instance, a sunroom that is now enclosed can be difficult to heat in the winter. People often turn to space heaters. Well, a ductless mini-split can give you all the heat you’re looking for, without draining your home of energy.

We also tend to use them in basements and older homes, where the ductwork is really difficult. We can install a ductless mini-split system and heat and cool all the rooms without having to tear up your drywall.
It works just like a central heating and air condition system. There’s an outside unit that has refrigerant and electrical lines that run into a rectangular box that hangs on the wall. It sticks out about eight to ten inches.  After it’s up, you tend to forget it’s even there.
After you set the system’s thermostat, the unit outside does all the work. It’s basically a replica of a big furnace and the inside section of an air conditioner, all in this little box. In the cooling mode, it also de-humidifies, so that’s another great benefit.
Ductless mini-split systems are designed on the premise of efficiency. Skip the space heater and the noisy, inefficient window air conditioner and consider a fix that will save you money and provide more comfort. Call us if you have any questions about these systems at 1-610-257-7702.
