If you can see light coming through, chances are it’s a low efficiency filter. You might want to consider upgrading to a higher efficiency filter. Those denser, thicker filters are going to block light coming through.

Sometimes high efficiency filters actually slow the amount of air that runs through the system. If you already have a marginal amount of air moving through the system, a high efficiency filter might do more harm than good.
