Disinfect your sponge
Using the same old sponge over and over, especially during this deep cleaning season can get gross. So, to keep your sponge (hopefully, you have more than one!) sanitized and disinfected, we recommend squeezing it out and microwaving it for a minute.

Cleaning the garbage disposal
It is definitely not the most pleasant appliance to clean, but it’s surprisingly easy! Just drop in a cut-up lemon, some salt, and a couple of ice cubes to clear away any unwanted odors or built-up residue. Steam-clean your microwave
After a year of use, a microwave will have been splattered, battered, and covered in food. To help make the cleaning process much easier, fill a microwave-safe bowl with one to two cups of water, two tablespoons of white vinegar, microwave this mixture for five minutes and you’re good to go! This will make cleaning the mess off the walls much easier.

Dusting with fabric softener sheets and socks
Dryer sheets make for a cheap and effective dusting substitute. They work just as well as the more expensive electrostatic cloths. Lone socks that have lost their match make for good substitutes as well. When used as a mitten, they are especially effective at getting into tight places you might not have been able to otherwise.

Air vents
If you haven’t checked them in a while, your air vents are probably covered in a year’s worth of dirt, dust, debris, and allergens! The way to tackle this is to get that vacuum out. The attachments that come with your vacuum, like the soft vacuum brush tool, will quickly rid them of all the dust and debris. This will help increase the quality of your home’s air!
