5 Ways to Make Your Home Feel Like Paradise

With summer quickly approaching and friends and family jetting off on vacation, you may find yourself stuck at home. But that doesn’t have to be a bad thing! We have some creative ideas that can turn your home into your own personal paradise!

Add some life and color with plants

Indoor plants create a soothing atmosphere and actually help improve the air quality of your home. But if you are low on time or don’t have a green thumb, fake plants are great too! Faux vines make a beautiful wall decoration and require no maintenance.

Open up those blinds and change out those curtains

Often times people will keep the blinds down and the curtains shut when it’s colder. But since it has warmed up, you should open up those blinds and change out your curtains for something a little lighter. This will help open up the space and make it feel airy!

Clean the air in your environment

Having an air purifier set up in your home will do wonders as far as removing toxins and allergens from the air. If you want to go the extra mile, make sure to change out your air filter this summer; this will help aid in making sure the air circulating in your home is as fresh as possible.

Relaxation aids (candles/scents, flowers etc.)

Scents can positively impact your mood and state of mind making your home feel like paradise. Some scents are better at impacting your mood than others, but just be sure to choose one that you personally like. Citrus scents can be energizing, lavender can help with stress relief as well as help with relaxation, jasmine can be soothing, and bergamot can be great at helping you wind down after a long day. Flowers are also good at aiding in relaxation, and they add color to the room as well as introduce unique floral scents.

Minimize electronics

It’s a proven fact that electronics are a huge source of distraction. Your TV, laptop, and cell phone are all great at disrupting you. So, when you’re trying to turn your home into a paradise, be sure to keep these devices hidden. When bedtime comes around, it’s even more important that your cell phone and laptop are off or on silent so that notifications don’t distract you from getting a good night’s rest.
