Hot Water On-Demand…What’s Not to Love?

MoreVent wants to help you show your home a little extra TLC this February, to celebrate the month of love. One thing we all love is hot water! To get that hot water for your favorite toasty warm shower, you’ll need a quality water heater. In addition to the standard water heater, MoreVent also offers a tankless option that gives continuous hot water and can potentially save you money in the long-run.

How Does It Work?

A tankless water heater will provide hot water whenever it is needed. It is not instantaneous, but it can provide hot water continuously and will not run out in the same way a regular tank heater would. This can be ideal for those cold West Chester winters!

In a tankless heater, when you turn on the hot water valve, the water is heated up as it runs through a gas burner or electric element. It can provide you with hot water at a rate of 2-5 gallons per minute, and gas burners can provide higher flow rates than an electric element.

What Is The Cost?

There are many factors you will want to consider if you are thinking about installing a tankless water heater. Cost is usually the first question. The initial cost of a tankless water heater will be more than your standard water heater. However, because the water is not continually heated in a tank, it will save you money on your electricity bill over time. We also offer special financing plans if you need one.

Will It Work for My Family?

If you are curious, if a tankless water heater might be right for your family, one of the main things to consider is how much hot water you use simultaneously. Hot water demand for running a shower and washing machine at the same time may be higher than some units can provide.

Also, if you experience frequent power outages, a tankless water heater may not work for you, since it would not be able to produce hot water without electricity. If you are interested in a tankless water heater, your MoreVent tech will visit to survey the water that your household uses and then make a recommendation.

What Does Maintenance Look Like?

Tankless water heaters should get yearly checkups by your MoreVent technician. Although tankless water heaters can last twice as long as a standard one, you’ll need to ensure to regularly flush the system and clean your filters. Special consideration should also be given for homes with hard water.

Regardless of the type of water heater you have, routine maintenance will help extend its life. We are happy to service all makes and models of water heaters, so give us a call today at 1-610-257-7702!
