Tips for First-Time Homeowners

Buying a home for the first time can be a stressful event. The last thing you want is to get into a home without knowing the condition of your HVAC.
Inspection before buying
I recommend getting a full HVAC inspection prior to buying your home. Look at the sticker on the furnace to see who’s been servicing it. If it’s a MoreVent sticker, that’s easy. Just give us a call and we can discuss the system and its history.
I know there are inspectors out there who will do a full home inspection, but it’s really difficult for one person to know all the intricacies of a home. We recommend having a professional HVAC company do the inspection so that you know exactly what to expect in the future.
Post-purchase cleaning and inspection
If you’ve already bought your home and haven’t had an inspection, we recommend getting one right away. You should also get your heating and cooling system cleaned annually. By doing so, you’re going to ensure that your HVAC not only works safely and properly, but it will extend the life of system as well.
You’ll also be educated on how your system runs. If there are any signs of potential future problems, you’ll be made aware of them. You’ll also be told the age of your system. If it’s on the older side, you can begin to plan and budget for its replacement.
Enroll in the Club Membership Program
Our Club Membership program gives you all of the above. You get an annual inspection and cleaning of your HVAC system, plus 10% off all plumbing repairs. We’ll remind you each year when it’s time to schedule it, so it’s one less thing you’ll have to worry about in your new home.
If you’re a first-time homeowner, consider a cleaning and inspection from MoreVent. We’ll help you understand your system to eliminate stress and give you peace of mind.
